In September, the iFood Cluster launched a distinctive national initiative called “Tastes, Wines, Connections” in collaboration with the Kislépték Association and the Balatonboglár Wine Region. The first event in the program series is the Our City festival. Before the opening day, you will have the opportunity to taste special offers at five Kaposvár restaurants and a pastry shop. Each offer features the signature product of a member of a food processing cluster, wines from a local winemaker, and products from a small-scale producer.

A cél egy olyan gasztronómiai kínálat létrehozása volt, ahol a vendégek egy helyi alapanyagokból kialakított menüsort kóstolhatnak meg – erről beszélt Szommerné Egyed Linda a iFood Élelmiszer Klaszter elnöke. ”The goal was to create a gastronomic experience where guests can savor a menu crafted from locally sourced ingredients,” said Linda Egyed Szommerné, president of the iFood Food Cluster. The winemakers are already ahead of the curve; now, we would like companies and producers to showcase their faces and the high-quality products that are produced in the region.”

Péter Podmaniczky, the president of the Balatonboglár Wine Region, emphasized that the goal is for consumers not just to see a wine label but also to understand the story behind the wines, to learn more about the grape variety, the production location, and the producer. Kaposvár is located within close proximity of the Balatonboglár Wine Region, so we aim to introduce as many people as we can to the outstanding wines. That is why we have become part of this initiative. The region is renowned for being one of the finest and most varied wine regions, producing exceptional sparkling wines, light and robust white wines, and delightful fruity red wines.

Tibor Vrancsik, on behalf of the Kislépték Association, emphasized that the event also contributes to the promotion of short food supply chains. “We are striving to ensure that food produced by small-scale producers reaches consumers locally, or with minimal intermediaries involved.
